talking plant
Hmm. Someday soon I will finish this. Until then…
Talking Plant is a username that I picked long ago. I might wish that there was some deep meaning behind the name, and I suppose that on some level there is, but really it’s just something I picked that no one else had thought of. When signing up for things on the web I always hated trying to think up a unique username since my name, initials and every other combo was already taken. So there you have it, the silly story (or lack thereof) behind the name Talking Plant.
As to who I am, let me first delve into these depths by making a list of what I have done or been, as the experience that you garner in this world surely shapes you in a profound way.
In no particular order:
Biologist, artist, writer, editor, bus boy, waiter, manager, bartender, boy scout, naturalist, liberal (in some ways), conservative (in others, let’s not worry too much about connotations here), husband, father three times over, photographer, philosopher, traveler, modern day beatnik, geek, web designer, futurist, scholar of speculative fiction, talent scout, cook, journalist, poet, one-percenter, gardener, lover, seeker of knowledge and truth. I don’t watch tv but I work in the industry and I’m horrified by pop culture while being awed by portions of it.
I have struggled with many things in my life, felt too much pain (as if any of us haven’t) and am still trying to come to grips with the fact that everybody seems to think I’m an adult.
Paying attention to the strange ways that things fit together is my forte. I have a non-conventional worldview that many could find disturbing (myself included at times). Peppered with contradictions and taken with a grain of salt I will happily march on into the sunset each of my waking days.
If you have a question, want to rant or are just lonely and want someone to talk to feel free to drop me a line. Talkingplant at lewdcognoscenti dot com
